GFRC vs EIFS

Why you would choose GFRC for your next project.

Strength

GFRC – A typical mix with 5% glass fiber has a compressive strength of 6,000 to 8,000 psi.

EIFS – Typically has a compressive strength of 15 psi

GFRC is 400 – 500 times stronger than EIFS

Fire Tests: ASTM E84

GFRC : Flame Spread Rating = 0 (less than 5 smoke density)

EIFS : Flame Spread Rating = 2 (Smoke developed = 6)

Freeze-thaw

GFRC: earned an “excellent” rating in freeze thaw resistance after withstanding over 300                rapid freeze thaw cycles considered to be the equivalent of 100 or more North East              winters.

EIFS: No failure of the lamina after 10 cycles freeze-thaw
